ThinkPad Z60t

After great consideration and deliberation over the past 2 days, I finally ordered a new laptop: Lenovo's ThinkPad z60t.

9/17/06 update: I really like the laptop. very sleek, portable, and powerful. I was worried the screen wouldn't be bright enough because of some reviews I read, but it's fine. The only problem I have is the very limited battery life (about 2 hours) compared to my friends' ibooks (over 4 hours). There was an option to get a bigger battery, but I didn't want the thing sticking out at the end.

car woes

i wasted most of today securing my means of transportation. first i got a flat and had to get the tire repaired. then i got my new right side view mirror (not required by law but good for insurance purposes i was advised) in the mail and spent several hours trying to install it, mostly on figuring out how to take off the inside door panel (hidden screws!). finally, i wrote a letter and a witness statement -- that i need to get signed by certain friends -- to contest a parking ticket from a month ago.

oh yeah, and gas is expensive.
